Screenshot detection is a feature that determines if a screenshot is taken while an app is open, and then sends a notification to any others who may be affected, informing them that a screenshot was captured. By design, and for security purposes, notifications of this nature cannot be disabled. They can also include identifying information, such as the username of the user who took the screenshot, or even a copy of the actual screenshot picture.
While this feature does not enhance privacy, it does help with security. By providing awareness around the capturing of messages, screenshot detection can help to promote trust and establish privacy expectations and standards between you and your contacts.
Currently, Glacier does not offer screenshot detection. However, this feature has been brought to our attention as being desirable for our clients. Therefore, we hope to implement this feature in the near future.
